In 1983, Larry Shreve and his son Tony left West Virginia looking for new opportunities and a place that would benefit their growing family.  The decision fell upon Shallotte, the (then) little town comfortably situated between Wilmington, NC and Myrtle Beach, SC.  It was small, friendly, and who could forget the sun-soaked beach at their backdoor.  They never looked back.

Years passed, and both Shallotte and the Shreves changed.  Who knows which had the most influence: the town on the Shreves or the Shreves on the town.  You see, the Shreves were builders by trade and they soon saw the need arising in the community for visionary developers and quality construction.  They rolled up their sleeves and got stuck right in.

Briarwood Golf Club was where they started.  Shreve Builders soon became the builder of choice for those wanting to build their dream homes in this quiet little neighborhood.  It was such a success that since then they have been involved in many other developments that have sprung up as Shallotte and Ocean Isle have grown in popularity.  Valued clients have chosen their houses to become part of beautiful developments like Ocean Ridge Plantation, Sea Trail, Brunswick Plantation, Winding River Plantation and the Ocean Isle Beach area.

Meet the Team:

Larry Shreve:  Built the business from the ground up in 1983. Since then Larry has personally managed the construction of more than 300 homes and condos in the surrounding areas. Being involved with the community is very important to Larry, and he beileves that caring about the people we build for is just as important as doing our best job when making their dream homes come true.

Tony Shreve:  Son of Larry Shreve.  Graduated from NC State to join the family business in 1998.  Vice President of Shreve Builders.

Rachael Shreve:  Wife of Tony and the newest addition to the family. Rachael attended NC State and has been a Project Manager with Shreve Builders for 5 years.

Jeff Lackey:  Graduated from Georgia State with a degree in Finance.  Now a Project Manager.
